The only thing wrong with College Pizza is its misleading name.

I am writing on a specific sandwich on the menu of a particular restaurant in my neighborhood. The eatery is College Pizza. Its located at the 4000 block of Chestnut Street. Its within walking distance of where I live and University of Pennsylvania. Its not that far from Drexel University too. Other local sites are a branch of the Philadelphia PA free library, and other businesses. The only complaint is its name, to me, is misleading. It is far more than merely a pizza restaurant. As Jerry Seinfeld might say not that's anything wrong with a pizza restaurant. However this establishment serves not only pizza. Its menu consists of American, Greek, Mexican and Middle Eastern. The people who own it are Moslems. They cook Halal. Don't know much about Halal except its a form of Islamic food preparation that goes by the laws of Islam. Its kind of like what Kosher cooking is for Jews. You don't need to be Muslim to eat there. They gladly serve everyone. You can easily get a meal consisting of a soft drink and an entree for under ten dollars. There are some items slightly higher. The meals are quite tasty too. Since its sandwich week at Qassia I'll now describe one of my favorite sandwiches there. Its the Chicken Fajita Its a good sized grilled marinated chicken with grilled peppers, sweet tangy grilled onions, tomatoes, and cheese. The combination produces a sandwich that's mouth watering and a tangy mix of delicious flavors. There is a choice of cheese too. American or Provolone. Each are excellent choices. Its a delicious taste of Mexican cooking between two pieces of bread. Its $5.75 |
