Rev. Wright's testing of Obama
Practically everyone with access to the print or electronic media, including the internet knows of the latest controversy concerning Rev. Jerimiah Wright and IL D. Senator Barack Obama. Virtually everybody is cognisant of the fact that Wright was Obama's pastor for at least twenty years. Many people who are following this controversy either or read or heard that the IL Senator seperated hiself from his pastor. In fact he did so with a vehemence that portrays a furious man. Here are some facts. Reverand Jerimaih Wright was the ministor who proceeded over the marriage of Barack and Michelle. He baptizef Barack’s. He was Obama’s pastor for more than two decades. He gets credit in Barack’s book, The Audacity of Hope. The title is derived from one the clergyman's sermons. Some of the remarks by the pastor is the US used AIDS to decimate the black population. Zionism is racism. He spoke highly of Nation of Islam leader, Louis Farrakan The US is responsible for terrorism and other outrages. He claimed he was talking for the Black Church. Well personally I'd love to see what other black clergypeople say about his claim. Its quite difficult for me to believe Wright is the only one who speaks for the black church. Speaking of the black church is in a way speaking of the black people. Its at least speaking of the black people who are members of the black church. By this I mean either exclusively or predominantly African American church I suppose Wright is not including people of African descent who worship at fully integrated church. Historically certain Baptist denominations, African Methodist Episcople and certain Pentecostal sects congregations were populated by mostly African Americans. Which of these if any is Wright referring to when he mentions the black church? Does he refer to any of them? I heard a rumor that Rev. J. Wright is on Hillary Clinton's payroll. I can't say if this is true. However I do think that if he isn't many people are thinking he should be. Wright is one of the best things that happened to the Clinton campaign since the start of the race. Plus its a rather convenient way to ignore the mistrust generated by her blatent lies regarding Yet, in a way, Reverand Wright may be the best thing that occured in Barack Obama's campaign. This could be a real test of how the candicate is in a time of trouble. How Barack Obama reacts to the controversy could show how he is in a crisis. It c ould be proving ground of how he handles crisises in his presidency. It could be a preview, as it were, of how would deal with controversial issues in his administration. IL Senator Barack Obama says he is outraged with the latest remarks by his former pastor. Still there are those who say well he was his pastor for twenty years. Why didn't he get enraged before now? Well I can't say. I can only speculate. One thing Obama said in so many words was the pastor's words were taken out of context. A woman friend of mine calls me on the phone and says "Hey bitch." I happen to know from knowing her for over ten years that she is a thoughtful caring friend. If the only thing you knew of her was how she sometimes jokingly greets me you may get her true self. In other words its putting whats said in context. I'm certainly not condoning wht Jerimiah said in those sound bites. What I am saying that its like the fable of the six blind men and the elephant. They focus on one part and completely ignore the whole. There must have been some reason for Obama to see that Wright married him to Michelle and his book "Audacity of Hope" was dedicated to him. Plus like many other church goers how intensely did he listen to his preacher's sermons? It sounds to me that he saw the caring side of Reverand Jerimiah Wright. Now he needs to see the whole truth of Jerimiah Wright and condemn him under no uncertain terms. He needs to refute Wright completely and no turning back. The Voters are waiting to se how Obama handles the situation. Will he pass the test?

Contributor's Note
Many pundits think Rev. Wright means doom to the Obama campaign. I say this could be a test of courage.
