Proposed web site for new dog breeders
By Lynda Appell
As far as I know there is no such web site on the net. However I think it would be an excellent idea for such a site. I think it would be a terrific idea for a web developer to design, develop one. It would be a good edge if the web developer is interested in dogs. It would be a real plus if he or she detests puppy mills. These places only care for breeding bitches to the detriment of their health. They put them through inhumane treatment too. If there is such a web page on the WWW, feel free to let me know about it. There are many pet adoption centers throughout the USA and for that matter, world wide. Sometimes puppies of mixed breeds are adopted. I think it would be great if one could see how these pups would like when they are full grown. There would be not only curiosity but pragmatic benefits. One of the most important I think, would be how much the dog would weigh. This is of importance because the owner may want to know what the dog or bitch's food budget would be. On the other hand if you're independently wealthy and don't need to worry over the cost of feeding the dog, than this would be a moot point. Or for that matter your housing is limited in its space. If you live in an apartment with size restrictions knowing how big the dog will get is quite crucial If you are a breeder breeding new designer dogs knowing what the end result of two dog breed combined would be very helpful in the development of the new designer breed. My definition of a designer breed is mixture of at least two pedigreeds. The difference between a designer dog and a lovable mutt is the former has a name. One of the earliest designer dogs was the Cokapoo. Others are Schnoodle, (Schnauzer and poole), labradoodle, Labrador Retriver and Poodle, Goldendoodle, Golden Retriever and Poodle, puggle, Pug and Beagle, Pug and Shar Pei, Mini and toy Shar Peis, bullnese, English bull dog and Pekinese. Suppose you want to develop a new designer dog breed or a new breed. For example you want to create a toy great dane. You want a dog with the regal look and calm personality of a great dane that can easily fit into an apt. The web site could give you predictions of what the dog would look like, including its final height and weight. For example you could see photos of how the combination could look. You could see if the prediction would show a great dane with a more sloped up stomach and deeper chest. Or what could look like an Italian greyhound with a great dane head on it. For the record a great dane is a mix too. It is a mixture of mastiff and sight hound. Sight hounds can be grey hounds, whippets, saluki's, Pharauoh hounds etc. An Italian greyhound is a toy greyhound. The site would be useful to potential buyers, especially of dog shelters and breeders of new breeds. |
