Ghost of Caribou Ranch.

It was back in the late seventies. December 1979 to be as exact as my memory permits me my fathe, my slightly older sister and I spent a winter vacation in Boulder Colorado.
We stayed at a dude ranch that just happened to be a recording studio. It was the same one that Elon John made famouse in his mid 70s album ?
So you may be wondering how did he get to stay at such a famous place? Well here's how. My dad happened to be an executive for Warner brothers records. In other words he had some connections.
The place itself was very rustic. Its furnishing remindedme of the old west. No idea how it is these days or if it still even exists.
Being it was in Colorado, the home of Celestial Seasonings, there was plenty of those herbal teas.
What I think is most relevant though to this week's topic was there was a rumor the studio was haunted. How true that was who knows. I am cognisant of the fact that the spirit was rumored to bring his presence known only if somebody smoked marijuana. Call it Alcapulco Gold,Bhang, Cannibis, grass, Marijuana, Maryjane, Pot etc.
He seemed to show up when the weed was smoked or in any way ingested. He was not there to be hip. He was there to show his disapproval. As far as anyone could tell he was a spector of a man who lived in the old west who was a cattle rustler who got caught rustling cattle. The result was a sudden invitation to a neck tie party.
I realize this can't be proven. However there did seem to be some sudden cold spells whenever someone dabbled in weed. Plus there seemed to be the groaning of a disembodied middle aged male spirit vocalizing his negative opinion on weed.
The general concensus, feeling was the spirit definitely didn't approve of pot smoking. Perhaps when he was on this earthly plane he saw too many of his family, friends suffer from the effects of too much alcohol, or alcoholism.
How he got to be so negative dealing with grass is I gather as he continued to exist on the other side he still could observe human foibles. He got to see how cannibus's effects and they reminded him of the effects of drink on his loved ones and others.
