A suggested way to pray By Lynda Kohn This is my suggestions for saying one's prayers. It is only a suggestion. It is not meant to be the only way to pray. It can be used for any time and virtually anywhere one feels like praying. It is based on the letters of the word acts One of the reasons I chose the word acts is it an active verb. When one acts on anything they invaribly do something. Acts is a word of action. You see see act is in the word action. Plus it is a book in the New Testament. However it doesn't matter what religion you practice. However you must believe in a Supreme Being to use my method. Lastly the entreaty to the LORD or whatever you call HIM, is divided into four parts. Each section is named after a word that is in the term acts. I start alphabetically with adoration. This is the part where I praise the Deity and everything he's done for me lately from good pleasures to trials to help strengthen my faith. These are only suggested adorations. The point is the beginning of the prayer is for praising, adoration. The second part confession I think is easily understood to confess one's trangessions. Be certain to ask for foregiveness and repent of at least trying to not to make those transgressions ever again or new ones. T is for thankfulness. Being thankful for what the LORD is doing for you in your life. This is somewhat different from praise. This is thanking as opposed to praying. Lastly is supplication. This is the part most people think of when they call upon whoeve they worship. This is where you ask for help and/or requests. In my humble opinion one should never presume He will grant your prayer. He is all knowing, among other qualities. He knows what is best for you. If he isn't granting your prayer request it is my belief , that he knows better what is best for you. Or this is not the time for answered prayers. The LORD by his/her very nature is impossible for anyone to completely know and understand. Whatever you pray for let it be known you understand it is only with the LORD's will. Well there it is, one way to pray with an organized way. Of course I am praying as are hopefully most everybody worldwide, for Haiti. I contributed twenty dollars to the Red Cross as well.

There certainly are so many ways to pray...and so many things to pray for, including as you have put it today, Haiti's aftermath.
